Why do I hear static on the line?

Gently move the hand set chord back and forth. If there is more or less static as you move it, the chord needs to be replaced.

Why doesn’t my caller hear me, but I can hear them or vice versa?

Ensure both ends of the spiral handset chord is plugged and fully seated. Swap out for a different handset and see if this rectifies the problem.

What’s the difference between Cat5E and Cat6?

Cat5E can do gigabit speed while Cat6 was designed to do it.

Can I page through a VoIP phone system to a traditional facility Paging system?

Yes you can, but a site survey is required and additional equipment will be necessary.

How much bandwidth do I need to facilitate a HD Videoconference?

Depending upon the manufacturer, you will need minimally 768K. You can attain DVD quality with 512K.

Can desktop PC/VC units connect and talk to room-based systems?

It depends upon the manufacturer of the equipment. Give us a call and we can help you with this.

Can SKYPE users make videoconference calls into traditional room-based VC units?

No, not at this time, but we offer other desk top options that can make the traversal between the two technologies.

Can I use my existing AV rooms, and connect HD-VC units to them?

Yes, but a site survey is required to provide you with the best possible scenario.

Is it better to connect your HD-VC units to LCD screens or projectors?

This is very subjective. Typically LCD screen colors are more vibrant and motion handling ability is superior to the typical DLP or LCD projector.

Why isn’t there an image on my LCD/plasma or projector?

Ensure that the unit is powered on and you can see a power light. Power cycle the unit off, unplug the unit, check that the lense cap is off and make certain you are on the correct video input.

Why is the image on the LCD/plasma or projector blurry or ghosting?

Check that the cable is connected properly. Is there static or poor image quality as you wiggle the cable or connection?
